Our crochet hooks are very personal tools to us. Whether you prefer inline or tapered, wood, metal or plastic there is a hook for your needs for THAT project.
I used this beautiful Laurel Hill Ebony size H hook to design a shawl for a yarn company. I was apprehensive at first not using my tried and true hook, but wanted to give this hook a good workout.
Now, my preference is a tapered comfort grip (I use a knife grip). I was pleasantly surprised how smooth this hook was to work with. The Ebony hook never slowed me down, the point on the head ensured I was working into the correct stitch every time and this hook is lightweight which really helps with fatigue.
Laurel Hill hooks were designed with input from the Crochet Guild of America, read about their company mission here.
When you crochet as much as I do, you build quite the collection of hooks for all different purposes and yarn types. I plan to build MY collection of Laurel Hill hooks next. I bet the larger J and up hooks are fabulous for thicker yarns and the smoothest of finishes perfect for fine lace in the smaller sizes. The Ebony collection sizes are D-M
Which hooks do you use? why those? Tunisian too (Laurel Hill makes those too) Please leave a comment, I’d love to read your answers. Believe me we crocheters can get very “geeky” and picky about our hooks. For more information about ALL of the Laurel Hill Hook choices and purchasing them click here.
