Look at this angel.
Sharon Hernes Silverman’s newest crochet book is Tunisian Crochet for Baby, published by Stackpole Books. I reviewed a previous tunisian book of Sharons and love the ease of following her instructions. I do not tunisian crochet on a regular basis, actually the last book of Sharons was the first time I did tunisian by following her instructions.
Sharon has done it again with this book, the designs are unique and the color choices bold for babies. Tunisian Crochet for Baby is available through Amazon, Banes and Noble, and Stackpole Books.
Below is my version of the cover hat
Notice the stitches, they look knit. I used a #4 worsted heavier than what Sharon used and a larger hook, so my size is larger than infant. My point was to follow the pattern which includes decreasing. I am adding a set of tunisian hooks to my wish list.
Sharon is a perfectionist when it comes to her instructions and her charts. The charts in this book are clear to understand and color coded, those who prefer the visual aid of a chart and will not be disappointed.
I have no favorite here, I love them all.
This is the Harlequin Blanket done in tunisian entrelac.
How precious is this cocoon.
This poncho and turban hat would be perfect in the fall or spring on any toddler.
The designs cover both boys and girls in sizes infant through 12 months.
You can make the whole book starting with the Christening set, up to the adorable hoody jacket.
Sharon included some great nursery items too, a soft washcloth quartet and a nursery box for keeping the basic supplies near by.
This book is a must for a new parent or grand-parent, it will be used again and again.
